Using LabQuest Sensors with Computers

Get Graphical Analysis

Graphical Analysis is our free application to collect, graph, and analyze data from Go Direct sensors. If you don't have Graphical Analysis installed, please download and install it first.

Graphical Analysis in a Browser

If you cannot install software on your computer, you can use Graphical Analysis in a Chrome or Edge browser.

Connect Your Sensor Using USB

Connecting your LabQuest sensor to the computer requires a Vernier interface (LabQuest 3, LabQuest Mini, Go!Link, or LabQuest Stream).

  1. Connect the sensor to the interface.
  2. Connect the interface to the USB port of the computer.
  3. Launch Graphical Analysis. The app loads a default data-collection setup.
  4. Click or tap .

You are ready to continue your experiment.

Connect Your Sensor Using Wi-Fi and LabQuest 3

Data Sharing lets you stream data collected on a LabQuest 3 (or LabQuest 2) to multiple devices that are running Graphical Analysis. Your LabQuest must be on the same Wi-Fi network as your devices.

  1. Connect the sensor to your LabQuest.
  2. Enable Data Sharing on LabQuest.
  3. Launch Graphical Analysis on your computer.
  4. Click or tap 
  5. Choose your LabQuest from the list of discovered Data Sharing sources.
    • If your version of Graphical Analysis has the Pro features unlocked, select the Local data sharing option to see the list of devices.
    • If your LabQuest does not show up in the list, click or tap  and enter the IP address of the LabQuest.
  6. Graphical Analysis will connect to LabQuest.

You are ready to continue your experiment. When you begin data collection on LabQuest, the data will appear on your computer.
