Yes. Some sensors and interfaces that are supported in Logger Pro are not supported in our newer Analysis apps. Below is a list of those devices including options for their continued use and options for replacement.
Sensor Interfaces
LabPro Interface
This interface, discontinued in 2012, does not work with any of the Analysis apps. Your options for continued use are listed below:
- Continue using Logger Pro
- Older TI Graphing Calculators having an I/O port
Sensors
Older Sensors that Don’t Auto-ID1
Often, but not always, these sensors require an adapter to connect to a sensor interface. Vernier last made sensors without auto-ID functionality in 2003. Your options for continued use of these sensors are listed below:
- Continue using Logger Pro
- Use sensors with LabQuest 3 (LABQ3)
Additional options:
LabQuest 2 ; original LabQuest
See also Which photogates can I use with Graphical Analysis and Graphical Analysis Pro?
Spectrometers made by Ocean Optics
Spectrometers made by, or in partnership with, Ocean Optics are not supported in the Spectral Analysis app. Your options for continued use of these sensors are listed below:
- Continue using Logger Pro
- Use sensors with LabQuest 3 (LABQ3)
Additional options:
LabQuest 2 ; original LabQuest
For more information, see What spectrometers are supported in Spectral Analysis?
Sensors made by Qubit Systems
Sensors made by Qubit Systems do not auto-ID and therefore cannot be used with our Analysis apps. Your options for continued use of these sensors are listed below:
- Continue using Logger Pro
- Use sensors with LabQuest 3 (LABQ3)
Additional option:
LabQuest 2
Other Vernier Sensors
Pictured below are some additional sensors that are not supported (or only partially supported) in our Analysis apps.
Your options for continued use of these sensors are listed below:
- Continue using Logger Pro
- Use sensors with LabQuest 3 (LABQ3)
Additional options:
LabQuest 2 ; original LabQuest

- To determine if a sensor will auto-ID, connect the sensor to a computer running Logger Pro. If the table and graph change from X and Y columns to using data from the sensor, without opening a pre-made file or manually setting up the sensor, the sensor does auto-ID and can work with Graphical Analysis using a supported interface, such as the LabQuest Mini. ↩︎
