Some sensors require a brief warm-up time before they take their reading. We made LabPro and CBL 2 smart so that when they were using AA battery power, they would power up before they take their reading, take their reading, and then go back to sleep to extend battery life. When you have your interface plugged into AC power, it stays powered up all the time so it’s ready to go. The problem is that when you have the EBC plugged in with a lantern battery attached, the interface thinks it’s plugged into AC power so it doesn’t power down. The result is short battery life during long-term data collection.
This problem is fixed with CBL 2/LabPro operating system versions greater than 6.12. The new operating system is available on our web site at:
