Vernier Engineering Projects with LEGO^® MINDSTORMS^® Education NXT (EP-NXT, discontinued) contains 12 engineering challenges for use with the LEGO® MINDSTORMS® Education NXT Base Set and LEGO® MINDSTORMS® Education NXT Software version 2

Vernier does not distribute LEGO equipment. The NXT system is no longer sold by LEGO Education. However, it can be found from 3rd party online sources.

To perform all of the projects you will need this package of Vernier sensors and LEGO sensor adapter:

You can purchase sensors a la cart, if you prefer. You will also need to purchase the Vernier LEGO sensor adapter NXT Sensor Adapter (BTA-NXT). The Activities section of the following web page has a table that outlines which sensors are used for each of the projects:

The following projects require additional equipment:

The Plant Waterer project requires a LEGO Pneumatic Hand Pump and pneumatic tubing.
The Cartesian Diver project requires a LEGO Pneumatic Hand Pump, pneumatic tubing and LEGO Pneumatic Switch.
The Solar Tracker project requires two small solar panels, such as KidWind 2V/400mA Solar Panel (KW-SP2V)

At this time, LEGO Education sells a Pneumatics Add-On Set (part number 9641) that includes pumps, switches, tubing, an air tank, cylinders, and a manometer.
