While the labs in the two Tools for Scientific Thinking books were originally written to use Logger Pro, all of the experiments from the TST Motion and Force book can be done with Vernier Graphical Analysis Pro using the setup files linked below. However, most of the activities1 from the TST Heat and Temperature book make use of a Heat Pulser, which is not supported in Graphical Analysis. (The files for this book are included for reference.)

The Tools for Scientific Thinking books were written generically. No changes to the books’ written instructions are needed to support Graphical Analysis Pro. The books are no longer sold by Vernier and book text files are not included with the downloads. Download the files for the Tools for Scientific Thinking books you own.

Each download includes files for Go Direct Sensors (prefixed with “GDX”) and files for our older wired sensors (prefixed with “LQ”) that connect to a LabQuest Mini. The TST – Motion and Force files also include files for using a Go!Motion Motion Detector (prefixed with “GoMot”). Use the files that match the sensors you own.

  1. The only Graphical Analysis Pro supported activities from TST Heat and Temperature are:
    ● Lab 1 – Investigation 1
    ● Lab 1 – Investigation 2
    ● Lab 2 – Investigation 2
    ● Lab 2 – Investigation 3
    ● Lab 3 – Investigation 3 ↩︎
