This information pertains to the original LabQuest.
If you have LabQuest 2, see LabQuest 2 FAQs
There are several ways to reset the LabQuest. Try these steps in the order listed below.
1. Reboot: For a low-impact restart, tap the Home icon on the toolbar at the bottom of the screen, select Control Panel, and then select Reboot.
If the screen is not responding, try the hard key Home button. If the unit does not respond, go on to a hard reset. If the hard keys respond but the screen is not working, try recalibrating the screen:

2. Hard Reset: If you have attempted a reboot and the unit is not responding, perform a hard reset. For detailed instructions, see:
TIL 2433: How do I perform a hard reset on my LabQuest unit?
Note: Do not use a Hard Reset except as a last resort such as when both the screen and hard keys are not responding. This is equivalent to turning off a computer by yanking out the power cord instead of shutting it down.
3. In extreme cases, it may be necessary to remove the battery in order to force the entire system to reset. For more information, see: TIL 2189: How do I remove or replace a LabQuest battery?
