Chipboard is a lightweight, yet stiff, paper based material that is great to use for making blades for wind turbines. We have tested many different methods to cut the chipboard into different lengths and shapes. These are the items we have found work the best:
- Scissors
- Canary Cardboard Cutter
- Ceramic blade safety cutter
We recommend having multiple cutting tools available for each lab group that will be building blades to test on a wind turbine set-up.
