The SensorDAQ voltage probes only give a meaningful reading when they are connected to something. When the leads are not connected to anything, ignore the readings because what you are seeing is and internal offset voltage in SensorDAQ (often about 1.4 volts).

If you connect the two voltage leads together or connect them both to a wire, you will see that the signal is 0.0 volts.
