Occasionally a Go Direct Mini GC will lose connection with your computer, LabQuest 2, or LabQuest 3 when it has been sitting idle for a long period of time.
We have seen the connection drop momentarily, so that the device appears to be connected, but the host software has lost its data connection to the device. The temperature and pressure reading on the Go Direct Mini GC will display room temperature values (e.g. ~26 degC) and a 0.0 kPa pressure reading.
If you are using your Go Direct Mini GC with LabQuest 2 or LabQuest 3, you will need to restart LabQuest App. If you are using Instrumental Analysis, the Go Direct Mini GC you will need to restart the software.
To prevent this from happening, do not let the Go Direct Mini GC sit idle for more than 1 hour. If you are actively recording data, you will not encounter this issue.
If you see this problem repeatedly, despite trying all of the above, contact Vernier Technical Support (888.837.6437 or chemistry@vernier.com) and ask for a chemist.
