LabVIEW Virtual Instrument Downloads for LabQuest® Interfaces

Overview

Our LabQuest interfaces allow you to connect over 75 Vernier LabQuest sensors. LabVIEW graphical programming is a great way to capture and analyze sensor data, automate scientific experiments and introduce students to software used by researchers and professional engineers.

Installation Instructions

Choose your version of LabVIEW to see installation instructions.

Windows

  1. Install Graphical Analysis for the LabQuest driver.
  2. Download the zip file Vernier_Win_LabVIEW_2023.zip.
  3. Extract the contents into a folder.
  4. Open the ReadMe.txt file.
  5. Follow the instructions to move the LabVIEW files into your LabVIEW 2023 directory.

Notes

  • The LabQuest LabVIEW examples can be run on 32-bit and 64-bit versions of LabVIEW on 64-bit computers.
  • This download includes the LabVIEW files that support Go Direct sensors (GDX), SensorDAQ (Windows only), LabQuest devices, and Go! Devices.

Windows

  • If you installed our driver before 1/22/21, please download an updated version for LabQuest 3 support.

Notes

  • The 2018-2016 installer for Windows supports the 32- and 64-bit versions of LabVIEW running on 64-bit Windows computers.
  • The 2018-2016 installer for Windows includes the LabVIEW files for the LabQuest interfaces, Go Direct sensors (GDX), SensorDAQ, and Go! devices.
  • LabQuest 3 support is available with a few modifications. See details and instructions.

  2. Open the download and extract the installer.
  3. Run the installer.

Notes

Windows

  • Supports the 32-bit version of LabVIEW 2009 through 2015 (running on either 32-bit or 64-bit computers).
  • Includes the LabVIEW files for the LabQuest interfaces, SensorDAQ, and Go! Devices.
  • Support of the LabQuest Stream is via a USB or Bluetooth connection for LabVIEW 2016 through 2018, and just USB for LabVIEW 2009—2015.

macOS

  • The macOS installer supports the 32-bit version of LabVIEW 2009 through 2013 and the 64-bit version of LabVIEW 2014 and 2015.
  • The macOS installer requires the user to click on the Customize button during installation to choose what versions of LabVIEW are on the computer. If Customize is not selected the installer will install the LabVIEW 2015 files.
  • The macOS installer also includes the LabVIEW files for the Go! Devices.
  • Support of the LabQuest Stream is via a USB connection, not Bluetooth.
  • LabQuest 3 support is available with a few modifications. See details and instructions.

How to Use LabQuest Interfaces in LabVIEW

  1. Connect your LabQuest device to the computer with a USB cable.
  2. Start LabVIEW.
  3. Open a Blank VI.
  4. Go to the block diagram by choosing Show Block Diagram from the Windows menu.
  5. Click and drag the Analog Express VI from the Vernier LabQuest palette to the block diagram workspace.
  6. Plug an analog sensor into the interface and confirm the reading.
  7. Close the Analog Express VI.
  8. Go to National Instruments\LabVIEW 20xx\examples\Vernier.
  9. Browse the example VIs.
