Vernier LabVIEW Samples for ULI and SBI

In the summer of 1999, Adam Gibbs interned at Vernier Software. His job was to develop drivers that allow the National Instruments' LabVIEW program to work with the ULI (Universal Lab Interface) and the Serial Box Interface. The Vernier LabVIEW package is designed so you can create your own Virtual Instruments (VIs) using the included data drivers. Also included in the package are several sample LabVIEW VI's which allow you to take advantage of some of the ULI features not currently supported by any of the commercial Vernier programs.

This project would not have been possible without the work of Professor Chris Rogers at Tufts University and Professor John Essick at Reed College. Although most of the development was done on a Macintosh, all of the included VIs are completely cross platform compatible. These VIs were created in LabVIEW 5.0 Student Edition. This means that versions of LabVIEW older than 5.0 will not be able to open these VIs.

When we created these VIs, we envisioned users modifying them to fit their needs. Feel free to change any part of the VI set. The VIs were made in a modular format to make changing them as easy as possible. We encourage you to play around with the VIs, get a feel for how they work, and write your own VIs.

Macintosh Version (1.0 MB)
Windows Version (800 KB)

We also have sample LabVIEW VIs and documentation for writing programs for LabPro.
